Formation in Remembrance
On the surface, Remembrance presents itself as an internally fruit-bearing practice. However, just like all spiritual formation practices, I am formed for the sake of others.
There will not be a final exam in heaven for the things I remember that God has spoken. Instead, I will be tested by the fruit of my character – did the things God spoke to me actually affect how I loved others each day on Earth?
If there is no output from what I remember, then I am engaging in a rote memorization activity instead of the formative activity of Remembrance.
