Ebenezer
Ebenezer is a memory system to practice recalling everything God has spoken to me.

Ebenezer is a personal project in its early days. For a timeline of updates, refer to the Ebenezer Captain’s Log.
Project Goal
Build something that helps me practice Remembrance daily.
Principles
Key principles that will inform product design of the memory system.
- Personal to me: curated to mnemonics and memory system patterns that are effective for the way my brain remembers things.
- Frictionless: Remembrance is a heavy mental load, so Ebenezer needs to reduce the amount of translation needed between generalized memory system design patterns and spiritual Remembrance content patterns.
- Easy to pickup: Remembrance is most effective as a daily practice, so Ebenezer should be enjoyable for me to use and easy to reach for throughout the day.
Temptation to Scale
In parallel with this project, I am working through a personal mental shift to default to scaling products. During ideation, I’ve been tempted many times to scale this tool to be something both widely adopted and feasible as a business. While both things could be exciting, they may be contradictory to my project goal.
The more generalized a tool is designed for, the less personal it will be. Memory systems are similar in that they are difficult to productize, since they are personal to the people creating them.
Similarly, when thinking about business feasibility and company formation, I will be tempted to make false claims about proprietary magic imbued in this tool. I don’t believe magic garners spiritual formation, so this is an anti-pattern I want to avoid.
